LG Optimus 3D slips out. LG promises: ‘Into the new dimension’

We’ve seen the addition of several Optimus phones, including the powerful Optimus 2X and Optimus Black. Now welcome the Optimus 3D to the fold.

Don’t be tricked by the photo, it looks like an Optimus One is being used for demonstration purposes. The page you see here was spotted on Dutch phone shop, The Phone House. (The Dutch brother of the UK’s Carphone Warehouse.)

To be honest the only thing we could glean from the page, before its unceremonious removal, was that LG are preparing to launch a phone with some sort of 3D capability.

LG were showing off several 3D screens at the recent CES in Las Vegas, and we’ll be surprised if any company  offers a 3D phone that needs glasses to create the effect.

It wouldn’t be a massive shock either, if the phone were to be powered by that recently revealed Tegra 2 3D chip, and that would certainly give the whole phone a power boost.

The fact that the page vanished soon after it was spotted strengthens that the idea that people were onto something, and then Fone Arena flashed their invitation to LG’s event at Mobile World Conference; ‘Into the new dimension’, eh?

We look forward to hearing more about its five unique selling points (USPs) at the Mobile World Conference next month. We’ll be there.

NB: Just so you know, “binnenkort leverbaar” means ”coming soon”. Obviously.
