LG Optimus 3D video review

LG has been somewhat overshadowed in the Android smartphones arena by HTC and Samsung this year.

This is a shame, because the Korean consumer-electronics giant has produced some good mobile products this year, from the LG Optimus 2X with its dual-core Tegra processor to the mid-range LG Optimus Black. However the most interesting handset by far is the LG Optimus 3D.

3D has been a hot trend in the UK tech industry over the last couple of years, and as well as trailblazing with active and passive 3D sets, LG has produced the LG Optimus Tab 3D tablet and now a 3D smartphone.

This ground-breaking handset is the first mobile phone that not only lets you capture 3D movies and photographs, but enables you view them in 3D on the 4.3-inch touchscreen without using glasses.

Running Android 2.2 Froyo, the LG Optimus 3D is exceptionally powerful, making it perfect for intensive applications like gaming, with an excellent selection of apps available via Tegra Zone.

There’s 8GB internal memory, which can be expanded using a microSD card. If you’ve got a 3D TV at home you can even play back the movies wirelessly using the phones DLNA connectivity or the old-fashioned cable-way using HDMI. Of course it can capture 5-megapixel stills too.
