LG Optimus range gets turbo-charged: Dual-core processing and full HD incoming

LG’s Optimus line-up is about to get a whole lot more impressive. This product leak, codenamed Star, is offering an 8-megapixel camera with full HD 1080p video recording, NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 dual core processings for super-speed action and, presumably, wonderful multi-tasking.

The mega-phone (ha!) will be running what Engadget’s source describes as a – “nearly untouched representation” of the Android OS. The front-facing camera is an unsurprising addition, as is the microSD slot for plenty of external memory.

We can’t believe how excited we are over an LG smartphone – are the feature-phone manufacturers finally catching up? The design still leaves a little to be desired but those specs are really quite impressive. We think it’s safe to say that 2011 is going to be the year of the dual-core smartphone and we just can’t wait.
