LG’s Watch Urbane is one of the slickest Android Wear devices so far, and now you can buy it direct from the Google Play Store.
LG’s new Android Wear smartwatch, which packs offers up arguably the most pleasing aesthetic of any Android Wear watch, can now be bought by UK users from £259.99 (with free shipping). That’s £40 less than the cost of the base model of Apple Watch, making it a seriously tempting alternative for anyone after a smart wearable.
The LG Watch Urbane has also hit the Google Store in the US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, South Korea and Spain.
Powered by a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chip and 512MB RAM, LG’s latest watch is pretty nippy, while its 1.3-inch P-OLED screen delivers sharp, vibrant visuals and excellent sunlight legibility – a key feature for those of us who actually venture outside now and then.
The LG Watch Urbane also has the honour of being the first wearable to receive the new Android Wear update, which brings a bunch of new features with it. So the Urbane will come packing Wi-Fi support, gesture control (which will let you move back and forth through your Google Now cards with a flick of the wrist) and the ability to draw emoji with your fingertip.
The Android Wear update’s new low-power setting should also help to rinse every last drop of juice out of the Watch Urbane’s 410mAh cell.
Perhaps our favourite feature of the Watch Urbane though is the fact that it’s the least bulky Android Wear device around, and one which could feasibly sit on a woman’s wrist without looking like she’s glued a toaster to a friendship bracelet.
