LG X Cam: In a nutshell (UK specs, price and release date)

All you need to know about the LG X Cam, LG’s new mid-range mobile boasting a dual-lens camera, including the phone’s UK specs and what we know about the UK price and release date.

LG has just launched its first two new mid-range phones for 2016, the LG X Cam and the LG X Screen. These affordable mobiles each boast a single stand-out feature that’s normally found on more premium phones, and in the X Cam’s case it’s – shockingly – the camera.

LG X Cam UK specs

The LG X Cam is a 5.2-inch phone packing a Full HD screen and a 1.13GHz octa-core processor (exact make currently unrevealed), backed by 2GB of memory. There’s a 2520mAh battery which should hopefully provide just over a day of use between charges. We also like the X Cam’s slender (6.9mm) and light (118g) design, with LG’s usual curved finish and a choice of white, silver, gold and ‘pink gold’ colours.

Of course, the X Cam highlight is the dual camera lenses hosued on the back – a 13-megapixel and a 5-megapixel lens, which should work together to produce detailed snaps. The presence of two lenses could be used for a range of new LG camera features, such as selective focusing after a photo has already been taken (something already found on the HTC One M8). You also have a sharp 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

The LG X Cam has no official UK price or release date yet but it’s going to be shown off at MWC 2016, which kicks off a week today.
