How many dual- and quad-core smartphones have we seen at MWC so far? Too many to count. Interesting then to see Lumigon head in the opposite direction, sidestepping brute power and instead focusing on design.
The Lumigon T2 has a 1.4Ghz single-core processor, 3.8-inch screen with “high resolution”, 8 megapixel camera, and runs Ice Cream Sandwich. Not top of the line specs by any means, but the glass and stainless steel industrial design is the draw of the phone instead. We have to say, it certainly does look very nice, and reports from MWC so far indicate a nice and premium feel in the hand.
Other features of the Lumigon T2 include an IR blaster, so you can use the phone as a universal remote and avoid having to use a separate app over WiFi to control your media. Lumgion have also partnered with Bang & Olfsen to beef up the audio experience on the T2.
How much will set this you back? According to PhoneArena, around €500. That’s a little steep for a single-core smartphone, but at least it’s not as bad as the LG Prada 3.0 or BlackBerry Porsche.
The phone is set to be available in the first half of 2012, so start saving.
