Motorola Dext: Android to invade Milton Keynes tomorrow

Reports have come in of an Android invasion due to hit the streets of Milton Keynes tomorrow afternoon. The Android-based Motorola Dext, will be touching down at the opening of the new Orange multimedia store at 3pm tomorrow. From then on the Android horde will disperse, with the Dext going on sale in Orange stores across the UK on the 7th, followed up by a nationwide raid on Phones4U stores on the 8th.

The Motorola Dext comes with an impressive CV including a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, and a slide out Qwerty keypad. These features alone are pretty tasty in their own right, but the best thing about the Dext is how it integrates everything making for a more streamlined experience.

The Dext features five home pages, so you can have separate menu screens dedicated to your various social networking accounts. Not only can you have one page for Facebook, Twitter, Myspace et al, you can also update multiple accounts at once from one screen. So if you want to tweet the same link you’re posting as a status update on Myspace simultaneously, you can.

Other features of the Motorola Dext include a 3.5mm audio jack, so no messing around with adapters, and a microSD slot which can hold a hefty 32GB of extra memory – plenty of space for music, maps and apps then. A 2GB card comes included.

As we reported last month, the Motorola Dext is free on 24 month Orange contracts starting at £34.26 per month. This contract includes 900 minutes, unlimited texts, and inclusive anytime internet browsing allowing you to make the most of the Dext’s social networking aspects.
