Motorola Droid 3 pics leaked: Is this the Motorola Milestone 3?

Leaked pics of phones purporting to be the Motorola Droid 3, Droid X 2 and Targa have emerged from the internet’s rumour-pipes.

Phones that have been part of Motorola’s Droid wardrobe normally end up getting released over here under the Milestone tag, so this could well be a sneak preview of the Milestone 3 right here.

It looks to be genuine, boasting the same Menu Home Back and Search buttons as seen on most of Motorola’s Android phones, and there’s clearly a hint of a Qwerty keypad underneath the screen here.

No specs or further details for the Droid/Milestone 3 came with the leak. We’d expect the vital stats to be something similar to those of the Atrix (i.e. 5-megapixel camera, dual-core Tegra 2, qHD display) at the very least, if the Milestone 3 is indeed genuine.

We’d also hope for 1080p video playback and webtop running under the hood.

The Droid X 2 and Targa (which is a 4G LTE phone) very much look to be US-only and so aren’t of immediate interest to us here in Blighty. But for those who like to look across the pond all green eyed and envious, here’s the (rumoured) details:

The Droid X 2 apparently has a qHD screen and a dual-core chip (again, like the Atrix) and the Targa is said to have a 13-megapixel camera.

We reckon this speculation is based on the extremely fuzzy quality of the shot below. Next to the lens is some text which does appear to read “13MP / AF”, but it could just as easily be something like “8.1MP / AF” up there.

Motorola declined to comment.
