Motorola Fire revealed: QWERTY features paired with portrait touchscreen

Motorola have announced a new QWERTY-toting addition to its Android phone range.

Alongside the keyboard, there’s a 2.8-inch touchscreen, Motorola promise it’ll have “best in class” battery life, and Moto Switch, allowing you to setup and change between work and pleasure profiles on your phone.

“We are excited about extending our growing smartphone range in UK, and Motorola FIRE opens up new possibilities in the smartphone market.

“The device’s stylish design and its exciting and versatile social media applications will wow younger, tech-loving users in particular,” said Victoria McManus, UK marketing director at Motorola Mobility EMEA.

Other specs include a middling three-megapixel camera, an LED notifier, and all the Android staples, including aGPS, FM radio and WiFi connectivity.

It’s an interestingly shaped phone, pairing a QWERTY keyboard with a portrait touchscreen. This should mean apps should run effortlessly on the screen – something that often hasn’t been the case with other hybrid Android phones.

Although no price has been mooted, Moto have tagged it with the term “budget-friendly”. Information on this, and a release date, when we hear more.
