The Motorola Moto E, a well-specced mid-range follow-up to the excellent Moto G smartphone, leaks online.
Looks like the first new smartphone from Motorola since its surprise sale by Google will be a follow-up to the excellent Moto G, one of the best-value mid-range mobiles we’ve ever seen. The new phone, dubbed the Moto E, leaked online via a Mexican website and appears to address one of the Moto G’s key weaknesses.
The Motorola Moto E is rumoured to pack a slightly smaller 4.3-inch screen compared with the 4.5-inch Moto G, almost certainly still packing a sharp 720p resolution. The reduction in size also makes for a smaller phone, if rumours are correct – the source claims just 6.2mm thick, which makes this one of the slimmest smartphones of all time.
The Moto E’s processor will apparently be a 1.2GHz dual-core chip, a cut-back from the original quad-core effort, but the 5-megapixel camera hasn’t changed. One fantastic new addition (if it’s true) will be the microSD memory card slot, for expanding the 8GB or 16GB of storage – much better than the bonus Google Drive storage the Moto G came with.
