Motorola Moto X+1: All the facts

All you need to know about Motorola’s incoming Moto X+1 smartphone, and the super-budget sub-£100 Moto E, due to launch in the UK in May/June

Motorola is one of the most exciting mobile makers around right now, and after its much-publicised split with Google, we can’t wait to see what’s to follow from the super-smart Moto X and the game-changing Moto G. The last big Motorola launch on May 13 sadly didn’t reveal the new Moto X+1: instead we saw the new crazy-value £89 Moto E, an Android KitKat handset with 5-megapixel camera, and the 4G version of the Moto G.

Motorola's new Moto X+1 smartphone, the likely follow-up to the Moto X, should launch in the UK May 13

Motorola Moto X+1: rumoured specs, price, date

Motorola’s new flagship phone, expected to be the ‘Moto X+1’ (it’s one better, dude), will hopefully appear in the next month…

We’ve already seen leaked specs for what could be the Moto X+1, courtesy of GFXBench, and the news is very good indeed – providing you like a larger handset. The Moto X+1 could rock a mighty 5.2-inch screen, comparable to the Sony Xperia Z2, with a Full HD 1920×1080 pixel resolution. Also expect a quad-core Qualcomm processor, 12-megapixel camera and of course full 4G and NFC support.

The name ‘Motorola Moto X+1’ was outed last week by German site Mobiflip, who noticed the unusual name briefly pop up on the Moto Maker website. Twitter scoundrel @evleaks has also added credibility to the Moto X+1 monicker.

While we’re waiting for the Moto X+1 to surface, check out our full Motorola Moto E hands-on review.
