The United States Patent and Trademark Office has published a design patent granted to Nokia for an N8 style tablet.
The patent, applied for back in May 28th 2010, is in all likelihood a now non existent device using Nokia’s MeeGo operating system.
Nokia actually filed patents on a pair of tablet devices, with the second appearing slightly less like a giant N8 phone. By the looks of it both are about 9 or 10” screens and feature the usual connections and jacks on the top (dotted lines in pics). Given the similarity with the N8 one is presumably a HDMI out port.
Given the patent was filed prior to the Nokia/Microsoft partnership it is likely the Finnish company is now working on a different WP7 powered device.
