We all knew it was coming, and now it’s finally here. The Nokia Lumia 800 is the company’s first Windows Phone, and Stephen Elop has boldly claimed that it’s the “first real Windows Phone”.
Not surprisingly, the Lumia 800 is similar to the Nokia N9 in appearance, but running Windows Phone 7.5, Mango. The Lumia 800 will sport a 3.7″ 800×480 ClearBlack AMOLED display, 1.4Ghz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and f/2.2 aperture for enhanced low light performance. You’ll also be able to record at 720p. The phone will be available in black, blue, or pink.
The phone is said to have “oustanding antenna performance”, and will take a microSIM like the iPhone 4/4S.
Not content with that? Nokia are bundling Nokia Drive, a turn-by-turn navigation app that’s exclusive to Nokia phones. You get voice navigation, and you can store your maps offline to save on data/roaming charges. Maps are also available in 2D or 3D. It will be available completely free of charge.
