O2 bags LG Nexus 4 exclusivity for a month

The new Nexus 4, launched just a few days ago by Google, will be sold exclusively through O2 for the first month of sales.

On O2’s website, the company confirmed that on the first official day of sales for the smartphone, 13 November, the firm will hold a special event at its O2 store located at the O2 Arena.

According to O2, the first 20 people in the queue at 8am will get their Nexus 4 at its exclusive pop up store on the roof of The O2. Customers will also be able to crack open the packaging and use their phones to take panoramic shots of the London skyline.

As well as the roof trip, the first fifty people in the queue will get a free 32-inch LG television to boot. The company said it will courier the TVs so people don’t have to lug them home afterwards. If you are outside of London or just can’t get the O2 Arena store, O2 said it will also give away another 50 tellies to people who purchase the Nexus 4 and then take a picture of them with the phone and tweet about it with the hashtag #lifesgood.

The Nexus 4 sport the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean mobile OS. It comes with a 4.7in display, 2GB of RAM and a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core chip.

The handset will retail at £239 for the 8GB model and £279 for the 16GB version. Customers will have to pony up £36 per month for a two-year contract.
