O2 launches community website

“It gives us great pleasure to launch our brand new O2 Community,” said a post on the new user forums created by O2, which have now gone live.

“It’s a breath of fresh air, take a look around to get familiar with some of the new features we’ve got for you like marking posts as solved, giving Kudos, and the all new twitter integration on the right hand side. You also get a special ‘rank’ as you get involved and help others on the O2 Community.”

The site offers the latest official information and promotions from O2, including sections for all of the company’s various products.

However, its main function is for O2 users to answer each other’s technical questions.

“We really want this to be a great place to help each other with any question you may have,” the O2 Community site said.

Help sections are broken down into manufacturer, such as Apple, Blackberry, Samsung, HTC, Nokia and Sony Ericsson.

Whether the kudos you receive will transform into O2 rewards has yet to be announced.

Posts have been migrated over from the old forum and if you have an old O2 ID for that service you can use it to log in. O2’s Social Media Team will be in charge of monitoring.

Initial user reactions were mainly positive, with a few early issues to work out.

“Looking good, quite a few broken links on old posts, though,” said user Wilt, while Jonsie added: “Seems to be a bit ‘laggy’. Bound to be a few minor niggles at this stage. Also the post count is a long way out!”
