Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus just launched its second smartphone of 2015, the OnePlus X and it takes a more traditional approach, whilst retaining a low price tag.
We heard rumblings of a second phone in the works at OnePlus after the launch of the OnePlus 2 back in July and the X is now a reality. Unlike the handsets that preceded it, the X is uses specs along the lines of 2014’s flagships, placing more alongside the likes of the Moto X Play and HTC One A9 by today’s standards.

Lower-level processor aside, the OnePlus still aims to fulfil the needs of being a premium device, arriving in two body types, made from glass and ceramic respectively. The company has also swapped out LCD technology for AMOLED one the X’s screen, offering up punchier colours from its 5-inch Full HD panel.
On the inside, the Snapdragon 801 chipset is twinned with 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB) and a 2525mAh battery, whilst the cameras are a 13-megapixel rear shooter with super-fast autofocus and an 8-megapixel front-facer with beauty mode in tow.
You can expect the OnePlus X to arrive on November 5th for £199, whilst the ceramic version will launch in a limited run of only 10,000 devices worldwide on November 24th for £269 as a result of the more complicated processes involved when working with such a unique material.
