Chinese manufacturers are increasingly offering tempting smartphones that are typically cheaper than traditional OEM offerings, but getting your hands on them can be difficult. Oppo has made it a little easier now that its European store is online, which means that prospective customers can now also easily buy the Oppo Find 5.
The rundown of the phone might pique your interest. The Find 5 features a 5-inch 1080p IPS display, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 16 or 32GB of internal storage, and a 13-megapixel camera. The price is the real lure, though: Oppo is offering the phone for €399 (around £341). It’s an attractive proposition, especially compared to prices of the unlocked Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, and Sony Xperia Z.
Oppo is offering the Find 5 in either white or black, with €399 netting you a 16GB model. If you want a 32GB version, then you’ll have to cough up €429 (around £366), but we’d argue that it’s the better deal considering the handset doesn’t have a microSD card slot. Interestingly, Oppo is also prompting the fact that the phone is developer friendly. The company lists the Find 5 as being compatible with popular ROMs such as Paranoid Android and CyanogenMod, so that might be worth taking into account if you’re set on stock Android.
