A lot has been written about Apple’s iPad killing off the netbook (or not), but it could be threatening other things too. Such as? How about those dog-eared Sudoku and puzzle magazines that you take on holiday to keep your brain ticking over?
One of the biggest puzzle magazine publishers, Puzzler Media, has launched a UK version of its Puzzler World XL iPad app. It promises more than 1,000 puzzles, including *deep breath* crosswords, Sudoku, Spot The Difference, Link-a-Pix, Hangman and Chain Letters.
The app has been released by iPhone games firm Chillingo, and ties into its Crystal gaming community, letting you boast about your achievements to fellow iPad owners around the world – rather than annoying your family by doing celebratory laps of the beach when you get a tricky 12-Down.
Puzzler World XL – UK Edition costs £2.99 on the App Store, which by our reckoning, is around 0.3p per puzzle.
