PlayStation Suite announced, Android devices to get ‘PlayStation-like’ games

Sony last night announced the PlayStation Suite, alongside the follow up to the PSP at a Tokyo conference. The Suite will apparently bring PlayStation-quality games to a number of handheld products including Android devices.

According to TechRadar, the quality of games available via PlayStation Suite will be akin to “first gen PlayStation” quality, although it’s unsure whether Sony was referring to the PSOne console or the first-gen PSP handheld.

There’s no UK release date for the PlayStation Suite yet, but it will apparently be arriving at some point in 2011.

We’d love ot see this get announced and demoed at Mobile World Congress, where the Xperia Play is expected to be announced by Sony Ericsson.

Sony also announced the PSP2 NGP (Next Generation Portable) at the same event last night, so it’s possible that we won’t see the PlayStation Suite open its doors ‘til the PSP2 is announced for the UK.

Still, another reason to be cheerful about the Xperia Play right?
