Red Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo hands on pics

As well as showing us the white Nexus S earlier, we got to see the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo in cherry red. This too will be exclusivley coming to Vodafone in the UK.

We saw a black-blue Neo alondgside the Xperia Play and Xperia Pro at Mobile World Congress this week and liked the look of it. It’s got an 8.1-megapixel camera with an Exmor R sensor – a little gizmo which allows you to take detailed pictures in dimly-lit places. Even without the aid of the LED flash.

The touchscreen measures 3.7-inches across and features Sony’s Bravia engine technology (sharper contrasts, deeper colours etc), so pictures taken on the camera ought to look pretty nice indeed. There’s an HDMI-out socket too, so you can show off your snaps on a big TV screen. As well as play Android games like Angry Birds. To be honest, playing Angry Birds on a big TV screen is one of our favourite uses of HDMI-out on a phone.

Ok enough of our babble – click through for some more hands on pics of the red Xperia Neo.

The 8.1-megapixel camera and LED flash of the Xperia Neo. The shape of the Neo reminds us a lot of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz.

As well as having a powerful main camera, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo has a front-facing VGA camera for video calls. Videocalling is officially cool again – cheers Apple.

Sony Ericsson is sticking to it’s three button layout for its Android phones instead of the regular four.
