We really like Swype here at Recombu. Not only does it look cool, but it’s the fastest text input method for mobiles going – that’s a claim officially backed by the Guiness World of Records. In the video below we see Swype intern Franklin Page showing off his texting skills on a Samsing Omnia II with Swype installed.
Using Swype, Page easily beat the existing world record for texting using a touchscreen – 160 characters in 40.91 seconds – setting the new world record at 35.54 seconds. The official 160-character phrase used to test texting speeds is:
“The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human.”
