Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 coming to O2

We’ve just been told by O2 that it’ll be selling the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2. Though we were unable to get confirmation of an exact release date or prices, we were told to expect the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 “towards the end of April.”

This chimes with what Samsung said in its official press release, but we were also told that this was subject to change. So we may be getting it earlier in the month, or perhaps later.

The dual-core Android 2.3 Gingerbread phone comes with a 3.8-inch screen with a 800×480 (WVGA) resolution, a 5-megapixel camera with flash and autofocus and 4GB of internal storage.

An update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich seems unlikely at this stage in the game, but we wouldn’t rule it out. There’s a VGA front-facing camera so you’d be able to have fun with the Face Unlock function and there’s also an NFC chip, so you’d be able to tap to share contacts and files using Android Beam.

As we said, price info wasn’t forthcoming from O2 but we’d expect to see the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 on circa £30 24 month deals. We’ll update when we know more.
