Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 Unboxing Video

Samsung have already filled their Android smartphone roster for 2012 to the brim, at the top end we have the ever popular Samsung Galaxy S3 offering quad-core processing power and a mammoth 4.8-inch screen whilst the opposing end of the spectrum is occupied by the links of the miniaturised Samsung Galaxy Pocket. In the midst of all this is a rather unique handset, the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2.

Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 Unboxing

Although the Ace 2 would appear to occupy a similar space to the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 and Samsung Galaxy S Plus, its unique hardware stands out in the lineup. The processor in the Ace 2 is one which no other smartphone currently employs; a dual-core 800MHz CPU provides power without sapping battery life. Arriving more than a year on from its highly successful single-core predecessor, the Ace 2 offers a larger, higher resolution (WVGA LCD) 3.8-inch panel. There’s also more RAM at 768MB and far more user storage, with the original Ace’s 158MB now bumped up to 4GBs along with expandable support for microSD up to 32GBS.

Imaging has also been improved with same sensor size at 5-megapixels, but improved video now shooting 720p at 30fps and the inclusion of a front-facing VGA camera for video calls. The Galaxy Ace 2 is a compact powerhouse, with a typical mid-range Samsung plastic feel, but good functionality and a few nice design touches go a long way. The Ace 2 runs a wonderfully smooth iteration of Samsung’s TouchWiz 4.0 over Android 2.3 Gingerbread but take a look at our video to see it in full effect.
