Samsung Galaxy Nexus is not delayed

Last week we reported about potential delays to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus. This followed information that appeared on Amazon.co.uk stating that the product was due to be released on December 2nd. Suggesting it was put back from its initial launch of 17th November.

We contacted Google at the time who refused to comment, now Samsung have spoken to T3.com to say: “Samsung can confirm that the UK launch date for the Galaxy Nexus is the 17th November.”

Which means it should be hitting the shops this Thursday. We know Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse are both stocking it.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the first handset running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, a new user interface designed to work across tablets and smartphones. The interface has been totally refreshed, and new features include: Android Beam for sharing contacts, improved notifications and redesigned gallery and photo applications.

Features include a Super AMOLED 4.65-inch screen with a 1280s720 HD resolution and 5-megapixel camera with full HD movie capture.

Of course, the update will also be rolled out to selected Android handsets, check out our comprehensive list here.
