The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is the latest tablet from Samsung and the second in it’s Note series of S-Pen-supporting devices.
The perhaps logical conclusion to the already-bordering-on-being-a-tablet-itself Samsung Galaxy Note, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 combines the artistic and note-taking features of the S-Pen and bungs them in to a 10.1-inch screened device.
The screen has a resolution of 1280×800 (WXGA) and is a PLS-type. PLS is in a nutshell Samsung’s answer to in-plane switching (IPS) which basically gives you some pretty good viewing angles.
Running on a dual-core 1.4GHz processor with 1GB of RAM, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running on top, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is Sammy’s most advanced slate to date.
Even disregarding the S-Pen stylus angle, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 looks like a more attractive sell than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 (10.1) owing to the faster processor. This will of course all depend on how its priced; the original Samsung Galaxy Note didn’t come cheap and we’re expecting the Note 10.1 to got a pretty penny as well.
It’s worth noting that the S-Pen, while essentially the same tool in terms of function as the Note’s stylus, is a bigger and more advanced peripheral. With over 200 degrees of pressure sensitivity, it allows for you to to make subtle and gentle (as well as broad) brushstrokes on drawing apps like Adobe Ideas and Photoshop Touch, both of which come pre-installed.
