The Samsung Galaxy Note S will be the successor to the hugely popular stylus totting Samsung Galaxy Note and is expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress this coming February in Barcelona according to tech-site Mobile Cowboy. With a release proposed for the second half of 2012, no specs have been revealed, but if we take the Note’s relation to the Samsung Galaxy S2 as a framework, We’ll be looking at a slightly more powerful device than the Samsung Galaxy S3 with a similar form factor and S-Pen support.
This means that the Samsung Galaxy Note S will probably be at least 5.3 to 5.5-inches and sport a quad-core processor as expected from the Samsung Galaxy S3 as well as a 12-megapixel camera, or whatever ends up on the S3.
Mobile Cowboy’s rumour isn’t the most concrete that we’ve heard of late as the original Note wasn’t announced until considerably after the Samsung Galaxy S2, so breaks release patterns. Add to that the fact that there’s plenty of mileage in the Samsung Galaxy Note and it seems unlikely that Samsung would potentially hurt sales by announcing a successor so soon. Perhaps we’ll get a teaser video with a mysterious S-Pen device, who knows?
Whether it’s true or not we’ll find out in a few weeks at Mobile World Congress.
