Las Vegas is currently playing host to CTIA Wireless 2010 where Samsung has just announced its latest addition to the Android-toting Galaxy range, the Samsung Galaxy S.
Running Android 2.1 backed by a powerful 1GHz processor, the Galaxy S promises to be your new best friend with its lightning running and web browsing speeds.
We’re pretty excited about the 4-inch super-rich AMOLED screen, which promises HD playback as well as low reflection and multiple viewing angles. The Galaxy S can play and record HD video so if you like the look of the Sony Ericsson Vivaz but want an Android handset it could be right up your street. It also incorporates Samsung’s mDNIe (mobile Digital Natural Image engine) which is used in its LCD and LED TVs as well – it’ll be interesting to see if all these features add up to a noticeably better display than other AMOLED screens out there.
It’s a capacitive touchscreen with no physical Qwerty but Samsung promises super-fast touch-response. With a 5.0-megapixel camera, external storage of up to 32 Gb and Bluetooth 3.0 we reckon storing and sharing photos, media and even HD video should be a breeze. And it packs all this into a skinny little handset; just 9.9mm thick.
Although there are no dates or networks attached yet, Samsung assures us that the Galaxy S will definitely be making its way to the UK – we’ll let you know more information as soon as we have it.
