Samsung Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note will receive Ice Cream Sandwich update

If you’re rooting for Team Samsung then you should be feeling pretty smug right about now. The LG Optimus 2X might not be getting a delicious Ice Cream Sandwich treat, but Samsung’s recent products certainly are.

Samsung Italy have confirmed that the Galaxy S II and the recently announced Galaxy Note will receive Android 4.0. Not only that, but the Korean manufacturers slew of tablets will see the update too. That includes the Galaxy Tab 10.1, 8.9, 7.0 Plus, and the 7.7 which hasn’t even been released yet.

No word on if somewhat older products like the Galaxy S or original Galaxy Tab will see the update, although even if Samsung don’t want to commit, the friendly ROM community inevitably will.

HDBlog mention the update is expected to be rolled out to devices in Q2 2012. Not exactly the near future, but we’ll take that over no update at all.
