Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom showcased in multiple leaks

Samsung’s June 20th event is fast approaching, but leaks for potential devices due to be announced at the event are still coming thick and fast. This time it’s the Galaxy S4 Zoom, a phone that’s been rumoured in the past to include the same 16-megapixel sensor as the Galaxy Camera. As it turns out, the device is very much real.

The very leak comes courtesy of SamMobile, with the site serving up a pristine press shot over the weekend that shows the front of the device. Samsung isn’t taking any chances on the overall design language, sticking to the familiar curves used on the Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4. Having said that, it seesm to be a pretty chunky device. There isn’t a clear shot of the back, but it looks like the lens protrudes quite dramatically from the back.

Android Police also spotted some pictures of the Galaxy S4 Zoom in the wild that were tipped to TechTastic. Again, we only get to see the front and the sides, but it matches perfectly with SamMobile’s press shot. Both sites also confirmed the specifications for the device, which include a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED display, a 1.6Ghz dual-core processor, 8GB of internal storage, and a microSD card slot for further expansion up to 64GB. Both sites also confirmed that Samsung will be using an optical zoom for the camera.

All that’s left is for Samsung to announce the device. It wouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see the company announce the Galaxy S4 Zoom this week, but we’ll probably see it on June 20th regardless.
