Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo specs spotted?

Like Julian Assange and the Welsh, we here at the beating heart of the smartphone techiverse love a good leak (yes, we know it’s a different spelling); especially so when the leak lists what could well be the specs for the rumoured all-singing, all-dancing, all-affordable Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo.

Samsung's specs leaked

Samsung is a giver. It gives until it hurts… and then it gives even more. So with the imminent arrival of the flagship Galaxy S5 on April 11th, it comes as no surprise that Sammy should be following it up with a more pocket-friendly model, but to get a sneak peek at the supposed specs is none the less worthy of some geeky excitement.

Flagged up as the SM-G750A on a user agent profile uploaded to Samsung’s server, the info caught the eagle eye of GalaxyClub.nl who took a screen shot for closer scrutiny. And the outcome of said scrutiny? That the so-called SM-G750A will come specced out with a 720p HD display, a lightning-fast 2.3GHz quad-core processor (probably a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800), and will, apparently, run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, but with the all new Android KitKat already in our midst, the smart money is on the OS being updated before the model rolls out.

So, whilst it’s not a lot to go on, what we can take from this is that the mysterious SM-G750A is going to be powerful, it’s going to fast and it’s going to be cutting edge in terms of hardware and software. Is it going to be the Samsung Galaxy S5 Neo or rumour-mill legend? Well, given the sieve-like leak-history of Samsung pre-production handset specs and the manner in which model numbers never tally with the finished product, we’ll probably never know. But whatever it will be called, what we know for certain is that we want one!
