Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge pictures and specs leaked

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge pictures and specs have been leaked ahead of the phone’s official reveal on Sunday.

Photos of the Galaxy S6 (wrapped in bubble wrap) initially appeared on the xda-developers Website, posted by a user going by the name ‘reefur’. The user claimed not to know what device was pictured in the shots, but said the handset came from AT&T.

A day later, yet more images of the phone popped up, this time sans bubble wrap, and sitting adjacent to another handset, said to be the Galaxy S6 Edge.

The standard S6 appears to have a design inspired by the previous generation Galaxy S handsets. However the leaks suggest it will have an all metal body with glass at the rear and over the top of the 5.1-inch panel giving it a very premium feel.

The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge features a ‘curved’ display that wraps around the left and right edges of the device. The smart money is on the display being exactly the same technology as seen on the Galaxy Note Edge.

No other details have been revealed as yet, but we can speculate both will feature the 5.1-inch panel used on the Galaxy S5, possibly with a resolution increase.

Inside, we’re expecting both devices to run Samsung’s new mobile processor, which will be fabricated using a cutting edge 14nm process that should yield performance and battery life benefits. It’s likely the S6 will offer the same performance with significantly improved battery life (or a smaller battery), or better performance for the same battery life.

Whether the leaks and rumours turn out to be true, we’ll have to wait and see. We’re set to go hands on with the Galaxy S6 on Sunday, so make sure you come back to Recombu.com for more.
