Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 ICS update begins

Samsung is rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update across Europe to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7.

Last month Samsung Canada revealed the Galaxy Tab 8.9 (below), Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be among the tablets getting the update to Android 4.0 and now according to SamMobile the first device to get the update will be the Galaxy Tab 7.7 

The ICS update will be available to customers in the UK, Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, it isn’t available over the air, instead users will have to use Samsung’s PC-based Kies software or via this link from SamMobile.

The complete list of Galaxy Tab devices to get the update is as follows, the majority of devices getting the update in August, although there’s no news about which of the tablets will be getting the update next.

  • GT-P6810 Galaxy Tab 7.7 WIFI

  • GT-P7300 Galaxy Tab 8.9 WIFI + 3G
  • GT-P7510 Galaxy Tab 10.1 WIFI
  • GT-P7500 Galaxy Tab 10.1 WIFI + 3G

 

The Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Note were the first phones in the current line-up to benefit from the ICS update. Since then we’re still waiting for confirmation as to whether the Samsung Galaxy S Advance or Samsung Galaxy Ace will be getting the ICS boost.
