Samsung Nexus S Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will happen

Samsung Nexus S owners on Sprint in the US must be feeling a bit miffed what with the Samsung Galaxy S2 basking in some Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich loveliness.

Part of the appeal of getting a Nexus-branded Android phone is that you’re meant to be first in line to get updated to the next version of Android, if not then at least pretty far up in the queue.

Though it seems that Google had put Ice Cream Sandwich for the Nexus S on ice (after having released it once) it looks as though its on the cards again; Engadget has been speaking to a trusted insider who is saying that Android 4.0 for the Nexus S will be with us ‘in a couple of weeks.’

Folks in the UK and the rest of Europe have been enjoying Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich since the initial rollout. We’ll update once we hear more on this; our main sources on UK network updates naturally not knowing much on this particular update story.
