During our ring round of all of the UK networks to find out when Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will be headed to the Samsung Galaxy S2 on O2, Vodafone and the gang, Samsung got in touch with us to tell us that the upgrade won’t be coming to the UK until Monday the 19th of March:
“Samsung UK can confirm that the roll out of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on Galaxy S II will be available from week commencing 19th March, however the availability of software upgrades in the UK will be dependent upon each network’s own software approvals process.”
We’re waiting to hear more from the UK networks now. Nothing is going to be hitting any Galaxy S2’s in the UK until next Monday at the earliest but as we all know, the network approval process can delay things a bit.
We’ll update soon with a piece on which networks will be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich over to their Samsung Galaxy S2’s and when.
