After the iPhone X? Sky Mobile is a solid UK choice

Apple’s highly desirable iPhone X is now available to buy here in Blighty, and Sky Mobile is once again tempting consumers with a straightforward tariff breakdown and strong incentives.

One of the most intriguing handsets of the year is about to release here in the UK, after almost two months of non-stop speculation. Apple’s iPhone X will finally be available to buy from November 3, delivering a near edge-to-edge 5.8-inch screen, updated dual lens camera tech and FaceID facial recognition security.

Of course, all of that cutting-edge tech doesn’t come cheap. You’ll need to save up a cool grand to buy the iPhone X SIM-free, which means Apple fans may be munching on toast for their Christmas feast.

Thankfully UK provider Sky Mobile is offering the iPhone at a respectable monthly tariff, to help break up the cost. Even better, the contracts on offer are simple to understand and come with some great benefits, such as free data rollover.

Head on over to the Sky Mobile Apple page to get your pre-order in, and read on to see what the UK provider has to offer any would-be iPhone X owners.

What is the iPhone X?

While Apple’s launch of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus was far from surprising this September, Tim Cook did have a very special ‘one more thing’ moment: the grand reveal of the iPhone X.

This special edition handset serves up several enhancements over the other new iPhones. For one, the design has been spit-shined, with a fashionable edge-to-edge finish for that super-sized display. Speaking of the screen, the resolution has been boosted to make visuals even sharper, with a new aspect ratio that’s better suited to movie playback.

As a result of the redesign, the iPhone X’s TouchID sensor has been ditched. Instead, the handset scans your face to check that you’re really you, and unlock for use.

You also get a new dual lens camera setup too, offering what Apple claims is the best shooting experience on any iPhone to date. All in all, a pretty desirable set of features, wrapped in a gorgeous chassis.

Why is an iPhone X contract with Sky Mobile a good idea?

One of the biggest benefits of joining Sky Mobile is the flexibility of the contracts. Rather than signing up for a set amount of data each month, with no option to downgrade on demand, Sky Mobile allows you to change your allowance at any time. You can hop to a new tariff every month if you wish.

You can also rollover any data that you’re left with at the end of the month, into your Sky Piggybank. So while on many other networks you’d simply lose any unused data when your allowance is reset, Sky allows you to store up and use those precious gigs when they’re most needed – such as the launch of the new season of Stranger Things, for instance.

Good news if you’re already a Sky TV customer, too; you’ll enjoy unlimited calls and texts every month, at no extra cost.

Swap12 and Swap24: what’s the difference?

With Sky Mobile you can upgrade your smartphone after just 12 months or 24 months, depending on how much you need the latest hardware. Of course, with a shiny iPhone X in your pocket, chances are you won’t want to replace it in a year’s time. All the same, Sky offers that option when you sign up, via the Swap12 tariff.

Once you’ve decided on that, you just need to figure out how much data you’re going to eat up every month. There are four options on Sky Mobile, to keep things streamlined: 500MB, 1GB, 5GB or 10GB. Each option comes with unlimited calls and texts.
