Snap Inc. has finally confirmed that Snapchat Spectacles are going to be made available in Europe as of Friday, June 2nd, starting in London, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Venice.
After making their way throughout California, over to Maui, across the Grand Canyon into Colorado and settling in New York for a while, Snap Inc’s Snapbots are finally journeying over the Atlantic and making appearances all over Europe, bringing with them new opportunities to buy Snapchat Spectacles for us folk across the pond.

When Snap Inc. rebranded it also repositioned itself as a ‘camera company’, starting with Snapchat as a software platform and adding in Spectacles as the first hardware to leverage the brand’s technology too.
When the company first pushed a Snapbot vending machine out on Venice Beach near the company’s original home base, CEO Evan Spiegel described Spectacles as nothing more than ‘a toy’ but the unique purchase method and limited availability made them incredibly desirable amongst Snapchat-savvy community almost immediately.
How to get Snapchat Spectacles in the UK and Europe
Originally, those willing to make the journey were able to travel to one of the Stateside Snapbot locations or eventually purchase them online; options which Snap is now making available to potential European customers as well.
If you want to test out one of the characterful and charming Snapbot vending machines for yourself they’ll be popping in London, Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and Venice from Friday, June 2nd, moving around Europe from then on.
The first UK ‘bot is taking up residence right by the London Eye against the Thames on South Bank from 7:30 a.m. and if the reception is anything like that of the original Venice Beach machine, there will be a queue, so arrive early if you want to guarantee yourself a pair before stock runs dry.
If you’re not fussed about physically picking up a pair of Spectacles from a Snapbot, Snap is also launching online availability for the countries in which the aforementioned European cities are found, as well as Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Switzerland and Sweden, priced at £129 or €149.99 (they launched in the US priced at $129.99).
