If you’re crazy enough to take on the likes of any military grade assault course you’re a braver person than I. Tough Mudder is arguably one of the biggest of the bunch, at least in the UK and Sony’s now teamed up with the event to dress it in some Xperia goodness.
For the next eight months, Sony’s Xperia brand will have a presence at every Tough Mudder event, taking place throughout the UK and Ireland, with the first being the Kettering course in the Midlands, scheduled for the end of May.
Naturally Sony is using all these events to showcase some of its finest wares; namely its flagship Xperia Z3 smartphone, the monochromatic SmartBand Talk and the latest Android Wear-powered SmartWatch 3. In true Sony style all of these products feature some element of waterproofing or water resistance and Sony’s also hoping to talk up the Xperia Z3’s advanced camera modes, which will be stationed around each course in order to capturing the muddy, messy scenarios that the Tough Mudders have paid to put themselves in. Weirdos.
Taking the partnership one step further, a Sony-sponsored team will be participating in September’s Tough Mudder and their experiences and training are to be documented in the run up to event day. Whilst ultimately Sony’s hoping it’ll convince you to pick up one of its various mobile goodies after seeing them in true field conditions, being able to see what prospective Tough Mudder participants go through ahead of time might also spur on a few new recruits for 2016’s madness.
Despite my reservations watching the summaries from previous years has against my better judgement, piqued my interest, what about you?
