Sony Ericsson X7 and X7 Mini: Windows Phone 7 gets the SE treatment?

Since it took Sony Ericsson a little longer to hop on to the Android bandwagon than others, we weren’t really surprised that the company’s handsets were absent from the Windows Phone 7 launch line-up.

It looks like the wait won’t be quite so long for Win Pho, however, with serious rumours of handsets ready to drop in Q1 of next year. Continuing the Xperia range, leaked documents appear to show specs and mock-ups of two handsets, the Sony Ericsson Xperia X7 and Xperia X7 Mini.

The Sony Ericsson Xperia X7 is the higher-spec of the two, boasting a 4.3in WVGA touchscreen, 1.2Ghz Qualcomm processor, 8.1-megapixel camera with 720p (HD) video recording and HDMI output.

We’re not sure whether we should be taking the X7 Mini specs with a pinch of salt, however. It isn’t exactly tiny with its 3.5in screen and power-wise the X7 Mini still boasting plenty, with a 1Ghz Qualcomm processor. The camera is a massive 10.1-megapixel affair, with Xenon flash and a purported 3x optical zoom – now that we’d like to see.

Spec-wise, it’s the X7 Mini that’s tickling our fancy although the mock-ups aren’t massively enticing when it comes to looks. Still, we’ll reserve judgements until the real things come out – if they ever actually do. [YouTube via Into Mobile]
