The Walkman name came to Sony’s phones even before they were ‘smart’, the Xperia PLAY brought a little taste of PlayStation to the company’s mobile portfolio and now nearly every new Sony smartphone can interface with Sony-based music, video and gaming services wherever and whenever they like.
It makes sense to cross-pollinate the many facets that make up Sony as an entity and in its latest campaign; the company is pushing its strengths in the music industry to fans of the Xperia brand with the launch of Xperia Access.
We joined prize winners at Sony Music’s London HQ in Kensington where MOBO Award-winning singer Rita Ora laid on an exclusive, intimate performance to christen the launch of Sony’s new experience. To a crowd of around 200, Ora performed her biggest hits in a seven-track set that served as a fitting way to demonstrate what Xperia Access is all about.
Sony along with partners Vevo and The Guardian, “Xperia Access gives Xperia owners and music fans a rare insight into the world of music that only Sony could deliver, with intimate gigs, candid interviews, festival experiences, and speaking to the people behind the stars such as stylists, set designers and producers.”
Whilst yesterday’s festivities served as the official launch event, a myriad of events and opportunities are going to be on offer to Xperia fans from now until September 15th. Head to Sony Mobile GB’s official Facebook page to find out more about the next events on the Xperia Access calendar.
