We’ve got the Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact, Sony’s latest smartphones, and here’s our full unboxing and hands-on reviews, plus everything else you need to know.

Sony revealed the latest members of its Xperia X family earlier this month and now the Xperia XZ and dinky Xperia X Compact have landed at Recombu HQ. We’ve unboxed these sleek smartphones and had a play, and here’s all of our footage to give you a closer look.

Sony Xperia XZ unboxing and hands-on review

The Xperia XZ is Sony’s latest flagship phone, so you can expect premium specs and features packed inside the gorgeous new alkaleido frame. That includes Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, which gives you nippy performance no matter what you’re up to, and Sony’s very latest 23-megapixel mobile camera.

Here’s our full Xperia XZ unboxing video and hands-on impressions, taking a quick tour of the desktops, menus and camera tech.

We’ve also had the chance to check out the XZ’s updated rear snapper, which packs new features for improved low-light performance. That includes a new laser-guided autofocus and intelligent five-axis image stabilisation.

So, does that new camera tech make a difference, and can the Xperia XZ beat those other mobile snapper heavyweights, the Galaxy S7 and iPhone 7? Check out our Xperia XZ camera review and supertest to see.

We’ve also tested out the Xperia XZ’s stereo speakers, to see how they stand up against the likes of the iPhone 7’s new dual blasters, and HTC’s mighty BoomSound efforts. Check out the results below.

Sony Xperia X Compact unboxing and hands-on review

Sony’s Xperia X Compact is a 4.6-inch mini mobile, a slightly squished version of the Xperia X handset that Sony released earlier in 2016. If you’re after a compact handset that can be easily operated with a single hand, this is certainly a solid option.

Check out our full unboxing and tour of the X Compact in the below video.

We’ll be bringing you full reviews of the Sony Xperia XZ and Xperia X Compact in the coming days, so check back soon!
