Tesco drops price of Motorola Moto G to £99. Can you say bargain? – UPDATED

Tesco Direct is currently selling the already cheap and powerful Moto G for a very attractive £99.

The 8GB edition of the Moto G, which comes with a 4.5-inch 720p HD (1280×720) display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core chip, normally goes for £135 so this is a real steal. You’re basically paying £25 per core here.

For your money you get Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, one notch down from the bleeding edge 4.4 KitKat OS, although Motorola has promised an upgrade to this.

Cheap as (micro)chips: The Moto G is going for actual peanuts

The 5-megapixel camera also takes some decent images and it can record 720p HD video – check out our samples and our hands-on photos and video

As we said before, this is very much a bargain however you look at it.

At the time of writing the phone is still in stock. Delivery options include free click and collect if you order by 3:00PM. If you don’t want to head into your nearest Tesco store to pick it up, you can pay £3 for standard delivery, which will take 2-5 days, or £5.95 for express delivery.

There are just seven shopping days left until Christmas Day, so if you were thinking of snapping up a Moto G on the cheap for a friend, relative, or if you wanted to treat yourself, grab your credit card and get shopping

Update: Tesco has just confirmed that all Moto G’s bought will be locked to Tesco Mobile.
