The British Journal of Photography iPad app, take 2

After ranking up 17,000 downloads with its first issue, The British Journal of Photography (BJP) has launched the second edition of its iPad app. Spread out over 350 pages, the issue covers the latest in visual trends, striking imagery, candid interviews with some of the worlds best known photographers and thought-provoking articles.

The issue contains a wealth of information and reviews of the latest in photographic technology, including the Sony Alpha A77, Phase One IQ180 and Broncolor Mobile Lithium power. You also have access to up-to-the-minute live news from BJP online – which can be shared directly to your social media channels.

The cover story is that of film star Natalie Portman, as captured by award winning photographer Sølve Sundsbø. Issue #2 includes exclusive interviews with the man himself, as well as Joel Sternfield, Daniel Meadows and Nan Goldin on her move away from confessional images. The app makes full use of the iPad’s visual capabilities and includes a feature on 3D imaging and a unique 360° photo captured by Ryan Emm Hughes.

BJP’s Autumn edition and a 50-page preview of the Winter edition are available free from the App Store; and BJP’s Winter edition (Issue #2) is on sale for £6.99, or via a six-month subscription at the launch offer price of £9.99.

Simon Bainbridge, Editor of British Journal of Photography says: “The BJP app gives iPad users access to exclusive content from top names in the imaging world, making it the perfect Christmas gift for photography lovers who like to get creative with their camera”.
