Jose Mourinho has racked up many achievements in his relatively short managerial career thus far: he’s won the Champions League twice with different clubs, won the Premier League twice with Chelsea, and put the snits up just about every rival manager with a carefully-crafted combination of mind games and arrogance. A man worth celebrating.
That’s what mobile developer Marvellous has done, with a new app for Nokia phones called The Special One. It’s free, and simple in scope: it offers a library of Mourinho’s best, funniest and quirkiest quotes from the last few years. Not that Jose’s name is mentioned in the app’s Ovi Store description, which may be an attempt to avoid pesky legal issues if Mourinho’s lawyers think he should be making some money from this kind of thing.
“Call upon The Special One at any time for an instant quote to inspire, amuse and console you and your friends throughout the World Cup and beyond,” suggest Marvellous. Actually, if this is going to be a trend, we’re hoping someone will make a similar app for Blackpool manager Ian Holloway – the only man who can give Jose a run for his money in the quotability stakes.
