Three prices up Sony Ericsson Xperia Play: £99 on £35 a month, £499 on pay-as-you-go

Three has announced its pricing and contract details for the long-awaited Sony Ericsson Xperia Play – aka the PSP Phone.

The much anticipated gaming phone, revealed with much fanfare a couple of weeks ago, can be had on a range of contracts and pay-as-you-go deals.

The cheapest contract is a £35 a month offering. This will get you 500 minutes, 5000 texts and 1GB’s worth of internet access, but you’ll need to cough up £99 for the Xperia Play itself on this deal.

If you can stretch to £40 a month, you can get the Play for £49 instead on Three’s The One Plan deal. This gives you 2000 minutes, 5000 texts and unlimited all-you-can-eat data.

Both of these contracts are 24 month long-termers.

Those with cash to burn can shell out £500 for an Xperia Play on pay-as-you-go (more like Play-as-you-go yeah?).

On such a deal you can sign up for an All in One plan which costs £15 a month. This gives you a month’s worth of unlimited internet, 300 minutes and 3000 texts.

For £25 you get the same unfettered net access but a roomier 500 minutes and the same 3000 texts.

Classic PS1 games on the Xperia Play are priced at £4, and you get Crash Bandicoot installed for free. Not quite Final Fantasy VII we know, but we live in hope that Square Enix and Sony will make this happen one day.
