Toshiba’s latest Android tablets include Tegra 4 and 2560×1600 displays

Toshiba tried to cover a range of sizes and price points with last year’s Excite tablets, and the company looks to be employing the same strategy for 2013. There are three new Toshiba Excite tablets running Android for you to wrap your head around dubbed Pure, Pro, and Write. The Pure is aimed at those on a budget, while the Pro and Write pack in this year’s latest specs.

The Toshiba Excite Pure features a 10.1-inch display with a 1280×800 resolution, paired with an Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, and a 3-megapixel rear camera. In addition, microUSB and microHDMI ports are onboard, and everything is powered by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Toshiba says that the Excite Pure should retail for £249 when it launches later this year.

Toshiba’s other two tablets bump up the specs quite a bit. The Excite Pro and Write both feature a 10.1-inch 2560×1600 display and Nvidia’s new Tegra 4 processor. There’s also 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot, and an 8-megapixel rear camera on both tablets. What’s the difference between them, then? The Write includes a display capable of accepting input from Toshiba’s pressure sensitive stylus, while the Pro doesn’t.

As a result, the Write is slightly more expensive. The Excite Pro will retail for £349, but the Write creeps up to £499 thanks to the inclusion of the stylus. All three tablets are due to be released on June 25th in the United States, but Toshiba says that the UK will see them sometime in the third quarter.
