Upgrade your BlackBerry, get £106 for your old one.

BlackBerry addict? Upgrade on the horizon? We’ve got something pretty juicy for you. An initiative from BlackBerry themselves titled BlackBerryTrade Up allows users to upgrade to a new BlackBerry and for a limited time get up to £106 for your old one.

Simply get a quote from the Trade Up site (image illustrated below), buy your new BlackBerry from a retailer of your choice and send your old one to RIM where they can turn it into a cheque just for you.

If you’re wondering how the fine-print works, the value of your BlackBerry is determined by the condition and model you are trading in. You also have to purchase one of the new line of handsets to qualify

These include the: BlackBerry Curve 9300, BlackBerry Curve 9360, BlackBerry Curve 9380, BlackBerry Torch 9810, BlackBerry Torch 9860, BlackBerry Bold 9780, BlackBerry Bold 9790 or BlackBerry Bold 9900.

In addition, you’re also have to trade in one of the following models to be eligible: BlackBerry Pearl 8100, BlackBerry Pearl 8110, BlackBerry Pearl 8120, BlackBerry Pearl 9100, BlackBerry Pearl 9105, BlackBerry Curve 8220, BlackBerry Curve 8300, BlackBerry Curve 8310, BlackBerry Curve 8320, BlackBerry Curve 8520, BlackBerry Curve 8900, BlackBerry Curve 9300, BlackBerry Bold 9000, BlackBerry Bold 9780, BlackBerry Bold 9790, BlackBerry Storm 9500, BlackBerry Storm 9520, or BlackBerry Torch 9800.

While this might seem overwhelming, odds are if you’ve been on a 12-24 month contract you’ll be doing this anyway and if lists aren’t your thing, jump over to the BlackBerry Trade Up site where you can look for your handset in the drop down menu.

Is this going to get you the most for your handset? Probably not. That said, it’s certainly going to be considerably easier than creating an eBay account or faffing about on Gum Tree, so if eligible, give it a go and get a quote, there’s nothing to lose. The terms and conditions can all be located on the following page while the main offer is available here.
