VisionHunt helps blind people identify bank notes and colours using a mobile

Mobile tech can be very frivolous but it can also be extremely useful. Take VisionHunt, for example, a mobile app that helps blind people identify bank notes and colours. All you have to do is point your phone’s camera at a bank note (euros only at the moment) or colour and it will identify it within seconds – it also allows you to find light sources, such as switched on lamps or open windows. According to VI Scientific, the company behind the app, VisionHunt is currently available for Series 60 3rd Edition Nokia handsets and a Windows Mobiles version is due soon. It’s worth noting that the full edition app with bank note and colour detection services costs a rather hefty £170. Watch the video demos below and click here for more info.
