If only voting to keep Jedward or whoever in the house was as easy as clicking a couple of links on Facebook. It’d be even easier if you could do it from Facebook on your phone right?
Well, turns out that that’s exactly what Channel 5 and Endemol has in store for BB devotees for the next season of the show.
Mobile and digital technology business Mobile Interactive Group (MIG) has announced that its working with the programme makers to deliver Facebook voting via vanilla desktop Facebook and through the existing Big Brother iPhone and Android apps.
You’ll be able to cast your vote by using Facebook Credits, which you can pay for with your credit card or via PayPal.
The app uses MIG’s mVoy Engage platform, which has previously been used to power the Got To Dance app. We’re already fans of so-called two-screen TV viewing but this takes tweeting at #bigbrother, #bb, #bb11 etc to a new level.
We’re finding out now whether or not you’ll be able to cast your Big Brother vote via mobile URLs like m.facebook.com and touch.facebook.com and if there are any plans for Windows Phone 7 and BlackBerry apps in the pipeline.
A BlackBerry Big Brother app, that’s surely a shoe-in – BBBB?
Now if only we could use Facebook to vote on good old Strictly.
