Windows Phone 7 goes Hollywood: Paramount movies and extras on your phone

Across the Atlantic, lucky Windows Phone 7 users are about to get a filmic treat. Paramount has announced that it will be releasing movies and DVD-like extras to the mobile OS using Microsoft’s Silverlight system.

This means that if you buy one of these releases on your Windows Phone handset, you won’t miss out on all the juicy extras you’d get on the physical DVD release.

Paramount is only releasing 10 films to Win Pho for now, from the sublime (Zoolander, School of Rock) to the ridiculously bad (GI Joe: Rise of the Cobra). For film buffs, there’s even a bundled version of the movie trivia game Scene It.

Let’s hope this little deal makes its way across the pond fairly soon – although how many complete movies and extras you’ll be able to fit on your Windows Phone’s fixed internal memory remains to be seen.
