Windows Phone 7 Mango update to get ‘over 500’ new features says Ballmer

In this video from a Windows Phone 7 presentation from Microsoft head Steve Ballmer, he reveals that the new Mango update will add over 500 new features.

These are all set to be revealed at a big launch event tomorrow in London -we’ll be there- and Ballmer adds this would also cover who will be building future Windows phones- which we hope means some new WinPho7 handsets.

He doesn’t say much else in the video, and it trails off into buzzword bingo, ‘integrated experiences’ and ‘third-party applications’, even adding ‘in real-time’ right at the end of this presentation snippet.

We’ll have to wait for tomorrow to see how it all turns out., but from what Ballmer has said, it could include new handsets, new apps, and perhaps even a whole new look. We’d expect a Skype app too.

The source for this juicy video-clip, WMPowerUser, thinks that up to nine different hand-sets could be revealed tomorrow.

Their mole tells them that this consists of two new phones from HTC, two from Acer, one from Dell, and four from Samsung, which may well resemble their Android superphone, the Galaxy S2.

We’ll be covering the big event tomorrow. Photos, live-blogging and analysis then!
